My drive from Kansas to Texas was wonderful. 8 hours flew by (with the help of some delicious Braum's ice cream; I forgot how good that stuff is!) I arrived Sunday, July 20th and went to Outback Steakhouse with Aunt LeeLee, Uncle Dan and Mom for dinner. We may or may not have indulged in their scrumptious, high calorie, high sugar, high everything-bad-for-you milkshakes... And they were amazing.
Since my arrival, Mom and I have been getting back on a healthy lifestyle, cooking at home, working out every day, and taking care of Miss Jessie who might honestly be the cutest dog I've ever seen. Mom and I joined at Anytime Fitness, went out on 7th Street, experienced Babe's Chicken Dinner House, visited with Uncle John and Aunt Ginny, saw "Lucy" at the Movie Tavern while having dinner served to us, and rode segways through the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens!
After Mom flew back to NY, LeeLee and I spent some quality girl time together shopping, going out to dinner, and seeing a movie. Lots of games, too! She's gotten much better at Nards and Farkle will always be a family favorite from here on out.
Mimi and Papa's arrival brought me back to the real world and made me realize it's about to time to start the last trek of my Summer 2014 adventure. Dealing with insurance, packing, job searches, and everything else people hate about the grown-up world hit me hard and it's going to take a little while to get used to this new level of responsibility. My grandparents have been very helpful with everything though and I am so thankful for them. Mimi has even agreed to take this wonderful journey along I-10 with me! Our stops in New Orleans and Gainesville should be very fun! I'm excited to add a few more destinations to my shot glass collection.
